As one of the newly sporting association in the country gain momentum in Freetown on Saturday 12th October 2019 the technical team were at the stadium to introduce the sport to the young people. As part of introducing the sport two teams playing each other which was Calaba Teq from Calaba Town and Juba Teq from Juba. Teqball is here to develop skills of athletes. It is here to stay according to the executive members who were present. They also stated that Teqball is a sport played between two players as a singles game or between three or four players as a doubles game, which resembles table Tennis table . It is played on a curved table and with a ball similar to a football, hit by any part of the body except the hands. The game is represented at an international level by the Fédération Internationale de Teqball (FITEQ). A number of world-class footballers have been attracted by the game, and after being included at the African Beach Games, the sport is now aiming for Olympic inclusion They also revealed that the Teqball World Cup is an annual competition organized by FITEQ. The World Cup has both Singles and Doubles competitions with men and women participating together. The first Teqball World Cup was held in Budapest, Hungary in 2017 with more than 20 participating nations. The 2018 version of the event was held on October 12-13 in Reims, France with a total of 90 players participating.

The 2019 Teqball World Cup is set to be played in October but the venue is unknown. The venue will be announced in July. Some of the Rules A Teqball match consists of best-of-three sets. Each set is played until a player/team reaches 20 points. Every player/team has two attempts to complete a successful service. The players/teams change service after each four points. It is forbidden to touch the ball with the same body part twice consecutively. Every player/team is allowed to return the ball with a maximum of 3 touches by any body part, except for the hands and arms. In doubles, a team has a maximum of 3 touches, however, the teammates must pass the ball at least once to each other. While playing, neither the table nor the opponent can be touched. In case of an edge ball, the rally shall be repeated. These rules make this sport tremendously spectacular and suitable for even professional football teams for training purposes. Teqball can be played by 2 players (singles game), by 3 players (Canadian doubles), by 4 players (doubles game) or even by several more players similar to the ‘Round-the-table’ game in Ping Pong.
