Sierra Leone Taekwondo Association (SLTA) started a month’s training on Wednesday July 24th 2013 in Makeni at the Old City Hall to develop athletes on demonstration, fighting and Poomsae.
According to the President of the Association, Oness A Johnson, this training will help the athletes to participate in international competitions and seminars and will also help them to know more about the international rules.
This is the second time they are having such training, since after receiving recognition from the international body.
The first course was in  January to February this year, when they took the athletes all over the country.  That training was a beginner’s training when the rules and regulations were spelt out to the participants.
The Taekwondo President went further to state that this particular course has attracted over 50 participants with majority of them from the Northern region  and the training was taken to the Northern region because the people in that part of the country have aspect in the sports more than any other region.
He also revealed that the four experts are from South Korea and are Yuji Hwang who is in charge of demonstration, Suhye Choi  is the interpreter in English and French.
Daekun Joo  is in charge of Kyorugi which means fighting and Taesung Hwang  is in charge of Poomsae.
He said in Taekwondo training they always have four experts because they want the training to have speed, so all the experts have roles to play.
