Sierra Leone Sports: SL Brewery donates Le 40m to COFA

The Winning and runners up trophiesSierra Leone Brewery Limited has donated Le 40 Million Leones to the Central One Football Association (COFA) executive of the Inter community league winner on Sunday 10th July between Foulah Tong and Mountain City that will be played at the Siaka Stevens Stadium in Freetown.
According to COFA Chairman Sammah Sesay he said they wrote a lot of letters to companies and individuals but only SL Brewery decided to come on board to donate such money to the winner because of the credibility and confidence they have in the association which they are very happy for.
He went further to apply to other companies and individuals to come on board to follow the footstep of SL Brewery for the development of the game in the country.
Chairman Sammah said that he is expecting such sponsorship to be an annual one, which the association is looking forward to.
He said that the association will provide the runners up money which is Le20 million and he also stated that one of the Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) Presidential candidate Kandeh Yumkella has provided both the trophies for the winners and runners up.
COFA chairman went further to appreciate both Western Area Football Association (WAFA) and the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) for their technical support and for providing the officials for the match.
Chairman Sammah said that he also thanked the Minister of Sports Ahmed Khanou and his deputy Al-Sankoh Conteh for the support and intervention to solve the problem between Susan’s Bay and the association and to give them the stadium for a very low cost which is Le3,000,000.
