In the ongoing Ernest Bai Koroma trophy which was played on Wednesday 25th October 2017 at the Wusum field it was a shock when Wusum Stars lost to Area Best FC by two goals to one(2-1) for the first time after playing several times.
It was Ahmed S Koroma who put Area Best FC in the lead in 26 minutes of play and before the end of the first half Edward Fornah leveled the score to one all (1-1).
Substitute John Kamara secured the vital winning goal and after the match Ahmed S Koroma who was declared man of the match said that it was a dream come true to defeat Wusum Stars FC. He said they worked hard and prepared well not to lose their second match in the competition as they lost 1-0 to Katarah FC of Rokupri last weekend. He said the Wusum Stars FC is a good team which he has so much respect for, but that in the game of football if one makes good use of his chances he will surely win.
Head coach of Wusum Stars FC Abdul Raman Turay (Agina) said the defeat was due to a defensive blunder and that he has learned a lot out of the match and will now go back to the drawing board to prepare for his next match against Konta United of Kambia on Sunday in Kambia.
He called on all fans to take courage as there are more matches to play and he assured his fans of qualifying to the next stage of the competition.
Other result are Katarah FC 0-0 Konta United in Kambia,
Sembeck FC 1-0 Kawula Rangers in Kabala and SKY Eagles played to a two all (2-2) draw with Bai Bureh Warriors in Kono.
