The three-day volleyball competition organized by one of the renowned volleyball clubs, Solar Spikers Volleyball Club, has ended at the Wilberforce barracks with Sergeant Quarter & Coupler Quarter combined won the competition.
They defeated Looking Town & Officer Quarter combined by three sets to one (3-1) in the final while Langunda & New Site combined, came third
At the end of the tournament the best player for the tournament went to James Conteh and the best setter went to Umaru Sesay. Both of them exceled throughout the tournament as they showed supremacy in every departments of the tournament.
The Organizing Secretary of the Club, Michael Bangura, said that the tournament was a success as they were able to scout players that they will bring on board to be part of the Solar Spikers Club, which will beef up the club for upcoming competitions.
He said, as a Club will try to organize such tournament if we have sponsors coming on board that will give the club more opportunities to scout more youth players for the club.
He thanked Major General S. Sesay for sponsoring the competition, which has given them the chance and opportunity to bring the club together.
The Public Relations Officer, Karifa Kello Thoronka, said he was impressed with the performances of the players. He said they are looking forward for their friendly matches in Bo and most of the players identify will be part of these friendly matches
