Sierra Leone Cricket Association (SLCA) will compete in the International Cricket Council (ICC) U-19 cricket world cup qualifier African Division 2 tournament which will take place in Johannesburg South Africa from the 10th to 18th September 2016.
According to the Regional Development Manager ICC Africa Cassim Suleiman said that seven countries are expected to compete in the qualifier. He also revealed that the ICC development Africa Regional Office will bear all travel accommodation, meal and transportation costs for the competition.
The countries that are expected to participate are Botswana, Ghana, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Tanzania and Zambia
According to reliable information reaching this medium the Sierra Leone Side are determined to win the competition that is why the team will embark on intensive training soon ahead of the qualifier.
In another development the cricket family is expected to meet the Sports Ministry today Tuesday 21st June 2016 at Bishop House to clarify pending issues affecting the association.
