Strongest man hopeful, Amin Huderoge, has been intensively preparing for the forthcoming Salone Got Talent, second edition, Strongest Man Championship under the watchful eye of ace weightlifting coach, Sonny Johnson.
During the competition, scheduled for Saturday April 29th 2017, at the Main Bowl of the Siaka Stevens Stadium in Freetown, Huderoge will face the strongest men from across Sierra Leone as they compete in different events meant to test their strength and endurance.
Huderoge, who was the runner-up in the maiden edition, has vowed to overpower his opponents to win the championship successfully this season.
“All of the training, lifting and preparation have been working well for me. The Strongest Man Championship is all about us and our weight. “It’s you against the weight,” he said.
Emphasizing that they don’t compete with a team and it has nothing to do with team effort but how the competitors make use of their natural strength and weight.
The fans choice, Huderoge said each competition comes with a different approach, which is why he has been preparing for the competition despite he will not depend on what he has done in the past weeks, but he will as well use his mental capability.
He stated, “I can train for the rest of the year, but if my mind-set isn’t working well then I can’t win. But if I have the mentality of winning, whether I am strong or not, I will push myself to that limit.”
Coach Sonny Johnson said he will not expect anything less than Amin winning the title because he is someone who likes to compete and gives his all to the last.
“He has taken a different approach to his training this year and I’m expecting him to perform much better than he did in the maiden edition of the competition,” Coach Sonny Johnson admitted.
Defending Champion, William Gallex Sesay, noted that this year’s competition will be more challenging, considering the quality of the other participants. But according to him, he will defend his title confidently because none of his opponent matches his current standard.
