Sierra Leone Premier League has been suspended until further notice.
This was disclosed to Awoko by a member of the Board, Amidu (Freaky) Koroma.
He said the suspension of the league until further notice is because of the decision taken by 10 out of the 14 Premier clubs after signing resolution that they are not going to honor the fixtures.
And as a responsible board, they cannot continue a league with four clubs; that is why they decided to call an emergency board meeting on Wednesday July 31st 2013 to suspend the league until further notice.
He said the continuation of the league will be determined by the outcome of the meeting between the delegation from FIFA, SLFA Normalization Committee, the Sports Ministry, disqualified candidates and President Koroma.
Amidu went further to say that the decision of the 10 teams to sign the resolution was because of the decision taken by the Normalization Committee to disqualify five candidates from the SLFA elective congress slated for Saturday August 3rd 2013, with most of these clubs seeing it as a biased decision; that is why they have decided not to honor any fixtures until further notice.
