The president of Sierra Leone Roll Ball Association Pastor Noel Williams has said that the sport has attracted a lot of youth in the western area within a very short time.
Pastor Williams revealed that the Roll Ball sport was introduced to few set of boys about six (6) month ago but they can now boost of several players training with them in a daily basis at the handball playing area in the Siaka Steven Stadium.
He explained that the sport is very expensive to play. He said the equipment’s used to play the sport are costly and it is difficult for the association to afford them for the players at this time.
Pastor Williams went on that they are doing their best to make sure those who are willing to play the game are encourage so that they will do more and so that the sports will grow rapidly.
He also revealed that since the introduction of the sport, they have convinced most boys that were riding roller skate in the street to join them and they are now part of the association.
“This is a positive sign for us in the association as these boys are going to be transform to international Roll Ball players in the coming years”.
Pastor Noel stated that on the 13th of this month they will host a day match between the players they have trained so far to exhibit the sport to the general public at the Siaka Steven Stadium.
