The Association has appointed Deputy Secretary General, Abdulrahman Swaray as the acting Secretary General.
According to the Public Relation Officer of the Football Association, Ibrahim Kamara, the Executive Committee of the SLFA would like to inform football members and the general public that it has resolved in a duly constituted executive Committee meeting to set aside the immediate effect both the President Isha Johansen and the General Secretary Christopher Kamara who have been indicted by the Anti Corruption Commission for alleged corruption related charges and are due to appear in the High Court of Sierra Leone on the 30th of October, 2017. It was on these grounds they have asked them to step aside and the Vice President one takes over as acting President.
He said that the executive committee want to assure both Isha Johansen and Christopher Kamara that the Executive is fully behind them in ensuring they are proven innocent at the conclusion of the matter, so as to welcome them back to continue their contribution towards the development of football in Sierra Leone.
According to the Chair of the Western Area Football Association, Foday Turay, they have been willing to work with whosoever heads the Association.
