The membership of the National Paralympics Committee of Sierra Leone (NPC-SL) will on Saturday 18 November 2017, converge on the township of Masiaka, northwest Sierra Leone for their Annual General Meeting. The meeting will be focusing on the Paralympics movement, activity report, financial reports and deliberations on how they should work towards promoting disabled sports.
Alexander Thullah, the Secretary General of NPC-SL, articulated that the one-day assembly will bring together key stakeholders who will as well serve as policy makers to identify the issues that are affecting the rapid progress of disability sports, map out strategic plans on how to solve these problems, while setting the objective for their athletes to attain sporting excellence that will see them excite and inspire not only Sierra Leone, but the world at large.
The gathering will ensure they provide extra zeal to reinforce new ideas that will endorse comprehensive developmental projects, which will bring more opportunities for all Paralympic athletes and as well create means of organizing local competitions to test their abilities before going for classifications.
Thullah said, “When we took up office as an executive, we assured the membership of quality leadership that will be accountable to them for the sake of transparency. In this Annual General Meeting we will account for our stewardship for the past year to give our members insight of what we’ve done administratively.
After this AGM, the membership believes they will use disabled sports as a social tool to change the lives of disable people so that they can serve as ambassador of hope by showing what they can do to those who are always with the notion that disability is in ability to believe that with inclusivity every human beings are equal.
