All is now set for the 4th edition of the Thinking Pink Breast Cancer Foundation awareness –-raising half marathon event on Saturday 4 November 2017.
According to Race Director, Sundufu Sowa, over 3,000 runners including foreigners and cyclists, will be part of this year’s event. He stated they are going to have various race categories ranging from 21km, 15, 10, 5 and 2km distances.
He said the 2km distance is fun for the kids and the 5km is for the aged and the disabled. The other categories are competitive and the first three positions in each category both male and female will receive prizes.
He also revealed that students will pay Le35,000 as registration. Adults are Le60,000. International people will pay $100 USD and companies will pay Le600,000 for 10 people for registration.
Sowa also stated that this Marathon is expected to attract over 5,000 participants. He stated that the event will be climaxed with a business expo and health fair at the entrance of Family Kingdom along Lumley beach.
According to the President of the Cycling Association, Percy Nicholson, he has appeal to all cyclists to come in their numbers to showcase their talent during the Marathon.
