Sierra Leone Sports: ”NOC has played a pivotal role in the development of sports” -Umaru Kakay

sportsThe President of Squad Racket Association, Umaru Kakay has said that the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Sierra Leone has played a pivotal role in the development of sports in the country.
He made this statement during this year’s Olympic Day activities in Rutile on Saturday 21st November 2015.
That is why they have decided to bring this year Olympic Day activities to Rutile as they want to see development in every part in the country.
He stated that they have travelled from Freetown “to join you in Rutile to   have taste of the Olympic Day activities”.
Kakay went further to thank the NOC for taking the Olympic Day activities to different parts of the country; this is a sign that they want to see sports grow in the country.
The acting Manager of Sierra Rutile, Karim Barrie said they in Sierra Rutile are very proud to partner with the Olympic family to celebrate the Olympic Day activities.
He said such activities bring people very close together like what has happened in Rutile.
“We in Rutile will do all our best to give our visitors all what they need and they in rutile love sports,that is why they are hoping that next Olympic Games will have some qualified athletes from Rutile.
The community representative, Councillor Alhaji Kanneh said he appreciated the effort of NOC by choosing Rutile this time around to celebrate these particular activities as they too what to feel and have a taste of the day.
Vice President of the National Olympic Committee,  Abdul Karim Sesay who also doubles as the President of the Sierra Leone Athletics Association, before reading the Olympic Message, said that this year’s  Olympic message is a statement made by the International  Olympic Committee President, Thomas Bash which talks about the Olympic Values.
Quiz and sporting activities were also part of the celebration.
