Mercury FC and Tank FC are both set for the replay final match of the 10th edition Camp Diva youth championship tagged ‘the Alie Suma trophy’ at the Kroo Bay Community field tomorrow Friday May 23n 2014.
The proposed final on Sunday May 18 2014, ended up in a stalemate, after a goalless draw. And the match is set to commence tomorrow at the Kroo Bay Community field, at 4:30pm.
The said replay final was bound to be switched to the national stadium practice field but the association’s Chairman was quick to deny, further confirming that it is realistic not only to start a league in eight aside and end it up in an eleven aside field, but it will be very unfair to football fans in that community who take football as religion.
“The Camp Diva Youth Championship is a link for uniting people of Kroo Bay community and people from different communities in the name of football. Football is like a religion to the people of Kroo Bay. They believe that football brings life to the community. Therefore, they want the final at the community.
“We have put all mechanisms in place for the replay final and we are hopeful of another successful replay final that will be played in a peaceful atmosphere since security is our paramount concern,” he said.
Tank FC manager, Bernard King has said that his squad is confident of winning the replay match and be crowned for the second time in three years.
The Head coach of Mercury FC said: “Our mission is to clinch the championship and remain the same. I believe we have all it takes to win the trophy since our boys are well-prepared and determined.”
