After a number of matches played in the ongoing 10th edition Camp Diva Youth Championship at the Kroo Bay Community field, Tank FC and Mercury FC qualified for the anticipated grand-final which is due to take place on Sunday 18th May 2014.
Both teams: Tank FC and Mercury FC, booked their tickets to the finals, after eliminating Grap Go Fen Am FC and FC Kallon Juniors respectively.
Tank FC capitalized on the 1-0 victory advantage in the first-leg clash and further held their opponent, Grap Go Fen Am FC to a 1-1 draw on Saturday May 10. This qualified them by a 2-1 aggregate to capture a spot in the final.
In the other semi-final encountered on Sunday, Mercury FC’s Kai Gborie, scored the only goal during both legs, to send his team to the final, after the first leg ended in a goalless draw.
Tank FC manager, Bernard King said his squad is eyeing the trophy for the second time in three seasons, and that he is quite confident of winning the championship.
The Head coach of Mercury FC said: “Our mission is to clinch the championship and I believe we have what it takes to win the trophy as our boys are well prepared and determine.”
The Chairman of Camp Diva Youth Football Association, Charles Carew aka Charlie Boy said his association has put all mechanisms in place to ensure that the 10th edition youth championship ends peacefully.
“We have put all mechanisms in place for the final and we are hopeful of another successful final that will be played in a peaceful atmosphere as security is our paramount concern,” he said.
