The Leone Stars Captain for the match in Liberia, Gibrilla Wobay, said the Cameroon 2019 qualifiers will be his last moment with the National team. He thanked his colleague players and the technical team for displaying professionalism and love for the country during the friendly match in Liberia.
The head coach, John Kiester, said the present squad is a two year project but that doesn’t necessarily mean that he will not include the professional players in the match against Ethiopia and Ghana. He spoke on the aspect of discipline and hard work, which are his main focus in making sure that the National Team succeeds.
The Sports minister, Ibrahim Nyelenkeh, said he congratulated the President of Liberia, George Opong Weah, and the people of Liberia for the way and manner in which they were treated.
The Deputy Youth Affairs Minister, Luseni Kallon, who was part of the delegation to Liberia, guessed that over 60% of young people are sport lovers. But, they have been deprived from enjoying national football for almost two decades. This trend must change.
We want to see Sierra Leoneans wearing their Blackpool, East End Lions, Diamond Stars, and Kamboi Eagle t-shirts at the National Stadium.
