The team Manager of Leone Stars, Christian Dauda, said Sierra Leone National team Leone Stars will play a friendly match with the Lone Star of Liberia during their independent celebration in Liberia.
According to Dauda, the match will serve as a test match for the team ahead of their AFCON match with Ethiopia which they are going all out to win
According to reliable information, the Deputy Minister of Sports for Liberia, G. Andy Quamie, said that the Liberia FA and President George Weah have requested for the friendly showdown.
“The game should be played on July 22, 2018, if Sierra Leone agrees,” said the Deputy Sports Minister. “The President of Liberia has already phoned the Sierra Leonean President about this. We are hoping that Sierra Leone agrees to come and celebrate our Independence with us.”
The Liberia Football Association has also written the Sierra Leonean Football Association, and once they agree, the technical details will be worked out with both Fas,” Quamie explained.
Most of the players said they are looking forward to the match and appeal to government or the football association for them to have at least two more friendly matches before their match with Ethiopia.
