Football Kenya Federation (FKF) unveiled Belgian coach Paul Put as the new Harambee Stars head coach. He was former manager of the Gambian national team.
Emmanuel Kamara said the reason for the appointment of such a high-profile coach is for Kenya National team to qualify for the Afcon and try to revenge against Sierra Leone after losing to them by two goals to one(2-1) at the Siaka Steven Stadium in Freetown. He replaced a local coach, Stanley Okumb,i who is now an assistant.
The 61-year-old was given a two-year deal in Mombasa during the federation’s Annual General Meeting.He will take charge of the Kenyan Stars remaining games to qualify for the 2019 African Nations Cup in Cameroon.
Put’s first task in the ongoing 2019 qualifiers will be against the Black Stars of Ghana March 2018 at home
