The Kent Cricket Club (KCC), one of the renowned cricket clubs in the country, will today Thursday 10th July 2014, end a four week cricket training with the American International School of Freetown ( AISF).
On the first day, which was more of an introduction, a short video clip about a match between Sussex and Kent in England was played for the kids to watch. After the video clip, the kids were divided into groups to learn the basic principles of catching, throwing and batting with tennis balls. Among them were kids from different countries, including England, Nepal, America, Australia and many more.
During the training, coaches from KCC were able to teach the kids the basics of the game, which will enable them to be best cricketers. The kids were able to respond very well to the training.
The chairman of the KCC, Emmanuel Pessima has told Awoko that taking cricket to American International School was a good venture, because the school has very good indoor facilities for cricket and the best players need the best facilities.
He also stated that today they are going to give certificates to the best Cricketer during the training. He said the award is to motivate and inspire the kids.
