acting SLFA President
The acting President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Brima Mazola Kamara, said his first assignment is to bring the football membership together. At the moment, the SLFA is a hotbed of controversy, in-fighting and confusion, which has damaged the game’s reputation and dashed player’s dreams.
Kamara said to achieve that he is working with the Ministry of Sports and the National Sports Council in that direction.
He stated if he cannot bring the membership the game cannot play, which is not nice. For over three years, football has stalled. Players and fans are affected and everyone is disgruntled.
Kamara said the next step is to organize a nationwide league were the regions will organize their own with their various districts and at the end two teams will qualify from each regions and they will now play on home and away bases.
Brima Mazola Kamara has revealed that the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has given clearance to access their Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) account which was blocked because Isha Johansen and Chris Kamara the President and Scribe were indicted by the ACC.
The acting President has been given the green light to use the account as they need to pay staff of the SLFA secretariat.
He said the only problem they are having now the Secretary General Chris Kamara has refused to hand over to the acting Secretary General, Abdul Rahman Swarray.
Accusations and counter-accusations have plagued the SLFA. The fighting for power and in-fighting between factions has destroyed the game and the Association. It’s a horribly embarrassing situation for the country.
