The Secretary General of the Sierra Leone Swimming Diving and Water Polo Association Mohamed Turay, said that 36 participants invited from schools, swimming clubs, the forces and Sports Writers Association of Sierra Leone, will benefit from the one week water polo clinic, starting today Monday 25th June 2018.
The clinic will end on 1st July. Each day, at the Presidential Lounge of the Siaka Stevens Stadium, they will be host lectures and at the swimming pool complex for practical exercises. The local expert is the Technical Director of the association, Victor Carew.
The President of the Association said that this is the first of three clinics this year and the next clinic is the water polo officials clinic that will be hosted in September.
The course expert said he is looking forward to the training and appealing to the participants to be focused. The clinic is expected to be interactive one.
One of the participants that is expected to be part of the clinic, Sheku Conteh, who is presently the acting coach of the association said the clinic is very important for them on how to coach and administer the different techniques involved in the game and keep abreast with modem trends in the water polo game.
Water polo is an active team sports that is played with goal posts at the opposite edges of the swimming pool with the ball being passed from swimmer to swimmer as they aim to score goals.
