The Sierra Leone Swimming, Diving and Water Polo Association says following the performances of swimmers at the 18th FINA World Championships in Gwangju, South Korea, FINA Development has awarded Tity Dumbuya (16), a scholarship to train in Dakar at the FINA Development Center in preparation for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in Japan where she will represent the country in the swimming events.
Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.
She will be joining fellow Sierra Dolphin swimmer Joshua J.J. Wyse in the centre. A year ago, Dumbuya was selling cucumbers outside the entrance to the pool. Someone asked her to swim and she is now one of the best swimmers in the country. She is expecting to represent Sierra Leone in next year Olympic Games in Japan.
