Sierra Leone National Cycling Association’s elective congress which was supposed to take place on the 16th and 17th of this month has been postponed for the fourth time.
This time around the postponement was due to apparent absence of the President of the Association Winston DC Crowther who said he will not be in town because of office duties.
In a letter written to the Director of Sports with the caption rescheduling of Date;
The letter reads; “I write to kindly inform you, Sir that i have been nominated by my employer the Sierra Leone Ports Authority to participate in a two week training course program on”Martime” and “Ports Security” at the Galilee international management institute in Israel from 12-26th July 2016.”
“I will depart Freetown on 9th July and return on 29th July 2016. In this respect I am hereby appealing to you for your kind understanding for the slated date for holding the congress to be rescheduled outside my travelling dates, as I cannot afford to miss both events.”
“I hereby propose that the Congress be held on 6th August 2016. All other arrangements shall remain the same, including but not limited to the meeting with the Director of Sports on Friday 8th July 2016 where and when financial report with respect to membership dues shall be tendered for due scrutiny.”
“I thank you in advance in anticipation of your positive response to my appeal and deeply regret any inconvenience this might have caused.”
In response to the letter the Director of Sports and National Sports Council has agreed with other members of the executive to move the election to September this year so that all parties will be present.
