The team manager of Shell Jewelers, Mohamed Suluku aka Kono Boy, said his team is confident ahead of their quarter final clash against the Clinetonians in the ongoing Central One Football Association (COFA) Super Star inter community league.
Both community teams, Shell Jewelers and Clinetonians, will battle today at the Parade playing field.
Suluku said he has a lot of respect for his opponents as far as football is concerned. “We are going to implement all our tactics, skills and mentality to win this particular game. We need to win and nothing else,” he said.
“We are calling on all our supporters to go to parade ground and cheer for our boys, which I believe will motivate them.” Suluku continued, “We have a well trained and determined squad… all we need is the motivation which is the supports from our fans.”
The Clinetonian goalkeeper, Abdulai Bah, said they have what it takes to win their quarter final encounter and to go further and scoop the championship.
The Organizing Secretary of COFA, Yapo Sillah, has confirmed that all the semi finals and final will be played at the Siaka Stevens Stadium. “We have put all mechanisms in place to make sure the league is successful as with the previous editions. Sillah added, “Security is our paramount concern and we have arranged for adequate security personnel.”
The Secretary General, Philpson Cline Cole, said the quarter finals will continue tomorrow, Friday July 27, with Lumley community entertaining Dwazark community. Saturday July 28 will feature Kunthorloh community battle Bambara Town community. Abacha City community will face Fourah Bay community on Sunday 29 July 2018.
