Two Youth Football Coaches, Daniel Abdel Conteh and Dauda Kargbo have been nominated by the Technical Department of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) to attend a 2-week intensive Coach Education Training and the England FA Level 1 Certificate in football coaching, courtesy of the North London Premier League Club, Arsenal.
This is as a result of the SLFA President, Madam Isha Johansen’s lobbying to the international football community to come to the aid of Sierra Leone and help build the capacity of coaches, administrators and sports journalists in the country.
The Grassroots Certificate duo is expected to leave Freetown before July 31st as the course will commence on Monday 1st August and ends on Friday August 12th.
Daniel Abdel Conteh described the opportunity as a “dream come true” as he hopes to take coaching as a career despite reading Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Sierra Leone.
Meanwhile, Governments and global investment companies are increasingly being attracted to Africa’s only Female FA President’s drive for Good Governance in football as one of the means of helping developing nations grow.
