Albert Academy will be engaging Wanderers in the opening match of the T20 division one league at the Prince of Wales Secondary School grounds on Saturday 18 November 2017.
Both teams are looking forward to improve on their game plan this season with a solid attitude that will see them gain progression to the ODI Premier League.
Wanderers and Albert Academy struggled in last season T20 league, as they were both tag points donors after losing most of their matches to their opponents.
But with the new development of three out of five teams to promote to the premier division, the two sides are targeting a top position. And a win for any of them will mark a great start to the season.
The team manager for Wanderers, Alhaji Kamara, said his team has improved on the aspect of bowling, bating and fielding. These he said were the problems they faced last season because most of the players were not actively involved in training.
Kamara commented, “My players are coming into the match with the ideology to win. Winning is our slogan this season. We will put it into practice by defeating all the other teams. We are actually excited to start off the season playing against a less experience Albert Academy side.
“As a team we respect them because they have some good players, so we will not underrate them. But trust me; with the current squad we have, we will defeat them comfortably on Saturday,” the Wanderers Team Manager stated.
Since, their interest is to gain promotion to the premier league, Kamara noted that they will be focusing on winning every match they played to increase their chances.
Meanwhile, Albert Academy players said it is a new challenge for them as they aim for better this season. Adding, they’ve trained hard to correct their mistakes as they will not want to be one of the free point’s donors this season.
