Western Area Football Association (WAFA) secretariat in a statement released to its membership on Thursday 7th July 2016 stated that three candidates vying for different positions in their forthcoming elective congress slated for 15-16 July 2016,have been disqualified from contesting.
According to the statement signed by the Scribe of WAFA Kasho J Holland Cole, it stated that Pastor Philip Buck, Momodu Sillah and Abdul Barrie were nominated for various positions but the signatures and names of the nominators were forged.
In the statement Pastor Philip Buck was nominated for Chairman Position. But the nomination form of Pastor Philip Buck bears a fake name and fake signature of the Chairman of Red Eaglets Female Football Club, therefore his nomination is not valid.
The other candidate involved in the said matter is Momodu Sillah who was nominated for the position of Ex-Officio. His nomination form according to the statement also bears the signature of the Chairman of New Site FC (Shell United) and this was also a fake nomination therefore it is not valid.
Abdul Barrie was the other candidate disqualified from contesting in the said elective congress. He was nominated by Pastor Philip Buck and James A Campbell.
In his nomination form Pastor Philip Buck signed as Chairman Victory Female Football Club which is not a member of WAFA, and for that reason his nomination was also declared as not valid.
It was further revealed in the statement “Number one and two nominations will be forwarded to the body responsible for further investigations and disciplinary actions”.
Meanwhile, the following persons have been nominated to contest for the various positions in the congress;
Chairman- Abdul Ahmid Kanasieu and Samuel Blamoh Roberts.
