France based Sierra Leonean singer MOS B is set to collaborate with one of France’s finest world touring DJ/Beatmaker signed under the label Big Scoop Records, Fatbabs, who discovered MOS B during his 2018 performance at the “Rast’Art” Festival in France.

“You see I came from the North of Sierra Leone and ended in the North of France. (It was by chance) I was one of the acts to open for an A+ artist, Naaman, of the same record label with Fatbabs,” MOS B disclosed in a WhatsApp interview with Awoko.

He explained that at the end of the festival Fatbabs and Naaman did an open-mic freestyle for all the musicians present, for which everyone went on stage and gave their shot. “I was a little bit scared, the only maybe guest ‘singer around’. My colleagues are very good rappers with heavy punch lines. Thanks to the CEO of Rast’art, Jr. Lanka, who believed in me, was looking for me. He said, ‘MOS-B, I know you can do this, go to the stage, don’t be shy, just be you’,” he said to me. I swallowed my fears, hands on mic, and the rest was fire.”

MOS B narrated, “I remembered Naaman took his mic, came to the stage and joined me singing; it was ‘wow!’ for me.”

Walking away from the stage, he said: “Fatbabs who was behind the DJ set made a sign to me, ‘thumbs up’ and a lovely smile. After the show backstage, we hooked up compliments from everyone. ‘You sound something like Gnarls Barkley.’ Fatbabs said, ‘good vibes.’ The connection happened immediately like we knew each other for long. That’s the power of music; it brings people together.”

He added that a few months later, he received an invitation to Fatbabs’ beautiful mansion and studio. MOS B said, according to Fatbabs, “I was among the first to work in his just renewed studio.”

“We spent the weekend together working hard in the lab, and the result was a beautiful, powerful song. The song will be released on the 12th February along with other songs, Extended Play (EP). We also had a project with NEW YORK TIMES journalist Ian Urbina, which is awesome,” he disclosed.

“This collabo means a lot to me, my career working with an international DJ/beatmaker. I’m humbled and excited.” MOS B said.
