A Lebanese business man Ahmed Hassim of 51 Hangha Road in Kenema city was arraigned in Magistrate Court No. 2 in Kenema before the Magistrate Samuel Koroma on two count charges.
Count one, for failing to use protective crash helmet and count two assaults on police.
According to the Prosecutor, Inspector A. M. Teh, the accused person was arrested along Hangha Road riding a motor bike without a protected crash helmet and during the process he assaulted the police officer who first attempted to arrest him. He stated that a reinforcement of police officers had to be called before he was restrained and taken to the police station.
This scenario attracted dozens of residents including Lebanese and bike riders who trooped to the police station to follow up on the matter.
Mr. Hassim was immediately charged to court for the two offences and has since been remanded until the matter comes up in court again on 14th July, 2016.
