As part of their continual complimentary roles towards government post Ebola recovery strategy one of the household Implementing Partners for Child Fund, Munafa M’Patie federation have hand over well-furnished Peripheral Health Unit (PHU) at Kapethe village, to Bombali district council.
The chairman for the occasion who doubles as the Member of Parliament for constituency 034 honourable Albert Deen Kamara thanks Child Fund for financing Munafa M’Patie for under taking series of developmental activities within the district pointing that despite the fact that government cannot do all but with development oriented local and International NGO’s interventions work load can be easier on government.
The Member of Parliament said the community is among the most deprived in the district in terms of development and health care services pointing that on three occasion after applying for health centre to be allocated to them, unfortunately their application was turned down but pointing that whatever is destiny for any one no man can take it from him.
The Bombali district council chairman John Shanghai Koroma expressed government gratitude to Child Fund for their continual commitment in complimenting government efforts stating that his district have benefited lots from projects implemented by Munafa M’Patie with funds from Child Fund. He pledges council commitment in ensuring the facilities are fence and that they are provided with water well and solar lights.
The senior district Medical Sister Haja Hawa Kallon expressed satisfactions to Child Fund for providing the funds and to Munafa for selecting the community and for also constructing modern buildings as she assured oftheir timely posting of nurses, distribution of drug and collaborative work with community people stating that the facilities are for them and it a most for them to effectively use it.
The District Sister encourage women not to give birth at home especially when their health centre is fully operational because according to her the centre is the safest place to deliver with trained and qualify nurses that are committed to their job. She also pleaded with stakeholders to assist in cleaning the centre and ensuring also that it is safe, free from harm and accessible by everybody.
The programs director for Child Fund International Mustapha Kebbeh said for the past 30 years they have been complimenting government efforts towards development pointing that the health centre project in Kapethe is one of their many post Ebola intervention areas in the country. He said they are committed in ensuring children are giving better and quality education, health care services and providing them with the opportunity to grow well.
Mr.Kebbeh strongly informed stakeholders and traditional authorities presently that it will ‘bleed’ their hearts if the facilities are not properly utilize and well taken care of from access by lactating and pregnant women, children and other members of the community. He pledges Child Fund continual supports to Munafa M’Patie and all developmental activities in the country as he call on all to protect the children and the facilities.
