About one year into their operation in Sierra Leon, VERITAS professional Services has signed a strategic alliance agreement with Ernst and Young (EY) to jointly provide cutting edge solution to their respective clients in Sierra Leone.
The Managing partner of VERITAS, Claudius Williams-Tucker said his company is a charted accounting firm providing multi-disciplinary services to local and international organizations. The company provides customized, industry-focused strategies that are highly integrated across three main functions “audit, tax and advisory services leading to both comprehensive and valuable answer to business requirement”.
Speaking about the agreement, Tucker said, VERITAS and EY both work in the same area, providing audit and tax advisory. Since EY is global firm that has clients in Sierra Leone but that they cannot service all of these clients because they are not in Sierra Leone. “Therefore, the agreement with us will enable them to service all their clients in the country”.
The agreement further requires that they provide co-operation and assistance as required and ensure the availability of capable personnel to assist each other in the preparation of bid and proposals, discussions and negotiations with clients or its representatives directed towards obtaining the award of engagement contracts and VERITAS serving as EY’s correspondent in Sierra Leone.
The agreement, “will also help us strengthen our work because they had a pool of scale which we don’t have”.
Kwadwo Mpeani Bruntuo, partner in EY in Ghana who signed on behalf of EY, said, “Agreement is a significant step forward in our efforts to enter the Sierra Leone market and to support the business of our global clients”.
EY Global Limited is a member of Ernst and Young International Limited (EYI) a Cayman Island Company. EY is a global leader in assurance, tax, transaction and advisory services operating in 150 countries and have 230,000 employees global with net revenues in excess of $29.6 billion USD.
Tucker said there are gaps in the Sierra Leone market, “which is characterized by low service delivery and satisfaction. We have very few major competitors that are in the market and our coming is to fill that gap to provide service at a cost effective way and also to hone in the issue of service delivery.”
Their client base is good and they don’t work with smaller clients but bigger ones and they choose the clients they work with and that is the reason why EY was attracted to them.
Adding that they work with their clients as partner “to ensure that they achieve their business objective and so bring the gap that the market is suffering from”.
VERITAS Managing Partner said, “They provide efficient and cost effective service to their client, deliver their engagement on time and also try to improve the businesses of their client. We work with our client to identify the gaps in their business we close the gaps and help them improve on their business. The testimonies we get from our client is that we provide different kind of service”.
