The United States Millennium Challenge Corporation and the Sierra Leone government will today sign the partnership agreement as they celebrate a new threshold partnership program of $44.4 million.
The grant is designed to create a foundation for more reliable provision of water and electricity services for the country with more focus on greater Freetown.
The US Ambassador, John Hoover said access to clean water and reliable and affordable electricity are essential to sustainable development. The United, he said, is looking forward to working with Sierra Leone to implement this important program.
The MCC is an innovative and independent US government agency working to reduce global poverty through economic growth. The Ambassador says MCC provides time-limit to countries that demonstrate good governance, investment in its people and economic freedom.
Both countreies will sign the arrgement today at State House as Sierra Leone looks forward to continue the partnership with the US in the future.
