Promoting the culture of savings and giving back to its customers, the United Bank of Africa (UBA) yesterday launched their Savings Promo dubbed as ‘Lion King Promo 2017’ at the Bank’s headquarters along Charlotte Street in Freetown.
According to UBA Managing Director, Chinedu Obita, UBA has been encouraging financial inclusion leveraging on its products such as Visa debit and prepaid cards, Mastercard, point of sale terminals, ATM, Internet Banking platforms, Freedom Savings accounts, U-Gold account, employee savings accounts, among others.
He disclosed they are encouraging people to imbibe a savings culture right from childhood. They have various savings products that meet all categories and needs both existing and potential customers.
“Savings assists one to raise seed capital for business, meet exigent cash need on a rainy day, boosts confidence and encourages opportunities to take advantage of investment opportunities to create more wealth for themselves,” he maintained.
Explaining about the criteria that will enable one to qualify for the Savings Promo, the Bank MD said, existing saving accounts holders should maintain a minimum of Le3 million and incremental of Le1 million or more on a monthly basis and for newly opened savings account there should be a minimum of Le1 million or more monthly.
“As part of the package, we will issue free MasterCards to all eligible customers. Withdrawal for more than three times within a month during the promo period will automatically disqualify from the draw,” he said.
According to the Bank’s Head of Products, David Musa, said the promo starts now and ends on the 31 January 2018 and the grand draw will take place on the 14 February 2018.
“The Star prize is Le10 million, second price is a weekend at Radisson Blu Hotel and the third price is Le3 million.” He said, the first prize for the mini-draw is a generator. Second prize is a 42” plasma TV. The third prize is a Le1,500,000 shopping spree at Freetown Mall and fourth prize is refrigerator.
