In my last article in which I spoke concerning man’s need of salvation, I told you that the Bible does not only provide our physical needs but also our spiritual ones. One need that is more important is our need for salvation.
I also tried to take you back to where it all started to see why we need salvation. ‘The Bible says we have all sinned and have come short of the glory of God’.
Our need for salvation caused Jesus to come into the world and died for our sins. This is God’s grace! Grace we do not deserve. The song writer says: He paid the debt He did not owe.
When Jesus came into the world, he lived a life that makes him the perfect sacrifice for our sins. No wonder did John refer to Him as the “Lamb of God which takes away the sins of the world”.
I also explained to you how you will benefit from this salvation: obedience to the gospel through baptism into the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.
You might want to ask: what will I gain after all?
Here is what our life’s manual says: God has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in the heavenly places (Ephesians 1:3). There are spiritual blessing that we will enjoy when we put our faith in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and the Saviour of the world.
Some of these spiritual blessings are: eternal life (John 3:16), redemption, forgiveness of sins (Romans 3:24; Ephesians 1:7) salvation and eternal life (John 3:16; Mark 16:15-16). Spend time to read John 3.
His blessings do not only stop there but in Christ we enjoy the peace of God which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
There is true peace to enjoy in this life when we put our faith in Christ and follow His teachings in our life’s manual: the Bible.
