“We enter the market with attractive packages that start at a price of $99 USD, we don’t want to be the cheapest ISP provider on the market, we want to be the provider with the best ratio between price and quality,” said Mohammed Nasrallah, Chief Executive Officer of K3 Telecom Sierra Leone. K3 Telecom Sierra Leone is a subsidiary of Swiss-based K3 telecom AG, which is a global telecommunications company with commitment to provide modern triple play services and a global provider of K3 Air Lastmile solution, has launched its operations in Freetown on Monday 21 January, 2018. K3 Telecom is providing a unique telecommunication system, which is an Air Lastmile solution, which is compatible to conventional networks that use the same equipment but the only difference is the signal path, which does not travel via cable but through the air (wireless) to the people of Africa. Internet access, they said, will be extremely fast and uncapped already in basic packages, allowing for carefree communication, emailing and using video services such as YouTube, Netflix, Amazon or Apple TV. CEO Nasrallah was speaking at the launch of their triple-play services on their wireless broadband telecommunication network with new quality of the internet and the new way of watching TV content. Imagine a cable that is connecting every single house and through this cable there is broadband internet, TV services and IP telephony available, but to build a cable network and connect house-by-house in developing markets is very expensive, time consuming and in most cases impossible that’s why K3 is doing cable in the air, which is an innovative technology. “The study shows that having the broadband data internet available has an amazing impact on GDP growth on the country’s economy. K3 is fulfilling its mission focusing on the African market and the need for available broadband service is at the highest level with proof of experiences in Liberia,” said CEO Nasrallah. Uros Mlakar, CEO K3 Switzerland, said that they are not mobile as they are focusing their operations on African markets and to bring better quality of life to the African people. “… because you cannot depend only on mobile networks, we are not mobile but we are bringing stable fixed telecommunication networks,” he said. He said that in the upcoming months K3 Telecom network will be further upgraded and expanded to increase the range of their signal and extend the coverage to a broader Freetown area.
