The Regent Grafton Road has been completed by China Railway Seventh Group (CRSG), believe you me it is the best-constructed road in the country. It was a gift from China costing the Chinese government $30 million.
The road will be commissioned next weekend, Saturday 26th April to be precise. The Chinese government has done very well for us and the road is being enjoyed now by many people using it frequently. Almost all of the people who have plied the road have lots of positive comments about it.
The Hill Station Hilcot Road is currently under construction, and when they finish construction, it will also be a quality and free road. It will be lovely to ride on, but it will take time to finish that project.
So driving from Grafton to Pademba road, you will enjoy the Regent Grafton road until you arrive at the Regent Police Post. From the Police Post to Hill Station at Old School, it is not a modern and expanded road. You will then drive on another nice constructed road until you arrive in the city.
So now that we are having good roads in the city, it will be nice for the Regent Hill Station road to be constructed and it should be done on time and also of similar quality. It is in this vein that I am appealing to you President Koroma to think well and give that road to China Railway Seventh Group to do it for us.
Mr President, time is not on your side, you need to get things done quickly and also be done very well. You need to leave your legacy behind that will make us proud and remember you for a long time. This can only be done if you take the bull by the horn to get things done.
CRSG has proved beyond all reasonable doubt that they can construct roads that are appreciated by every Sierra Leonean. All the roads they have constructed are of high quality and they do it within the time frame given. That is why I think Mr President you should give them that road to get it done quickly as well as constructing a high quality road that will join the Regent Grafton Road.
On the 26th April, I am very sure you will be commissioning that road and you will be very proud to do it as it was you who asked former Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi to help us with that road in January 2010, when he visited Sierra Leone. Four years later, the road is now a reality.
I am appealing to you that when you are ready to get that stretch of the road done, please consider CRSG so it can be done with quality and time.
Mr President, you have so much projects that will become reality in the next two years, and I would like this particular road to be one of them. With CRSG, you will have quality and time at your advantage, you will be able to relax and wait because you know the road will be finished on time and you will have quality for your money.
I am appealing to you Mr President because many Sierra Leoneans trust the Chinese and they are proud of what they have done at the Regent Grafton Road. If you do a vox pop you will definitely prove me right. The number of vehicles using that road per day is unprecedented and all these people are so happy driving on such a quality road.
Please consider my plea and make that road another state of the art work done by CRSG.
SLRA! You started repairing this same road few months ago and you have abandoned it with some dangerous holes you created. We are appealing to you to come now and fill those manmade lakes you created because come 26th of this month, the President and other dignitaries will be commissioning the Regent Grafton Road and they will be coming from the Hill Station end.
Please send your team to fill up these holes they created for us and avert accident as the rains will soon start falling. Lonta!
