The Secretary General of the All Peoples Congress (APC) party, Ambassador Alhaji Osman Yansaneh has said that Tuesday November 17th 2015, marked the third year of President Koroma’s second term in office and he is very happy for all what the party has done.
In a short interview with the Secretary General, he said he remembers this day in 2012 when they retained the seat of power. He said President Koroma vowed to put the youths at the centre stage.
He said President Koroma promised to empower the youths and he has been doing that by appointing so many youths in ministerial, Ambassadorial and departmental positions. “We must continue to support the president’s determination to transform the lives of young people as he has dedicated this second term to the development of youths in the country.”
Amb. Yansaneh averred that the young people should reflect on November 17 and they must continue to support the president’s call to alleviate their present plight as he continues to create jobs and provide scholarships for them to advance their studies.
He called on them to reflect on where they are coming from and how the party has helped them achieve their dreams and what they should do to assist the government succeed in other areas that need development.
“Last year this time, the youths were fighting ebola as the country was facing serious setbacks in the economic and infrastructural developments.”
Amb. Yansaneh called on all the youths to be respectful, stop all violence and disband all cliques that are causing problems in the country. “Be productive in your communities; engage in positive dealings with one another rather than stabbing and killing yourselves. The government’s plans to engage you is on and very soon the Youth Village will be completed to give you more opportunities in life.”
He commended the National Youth League for their determination to keep the party afloat and make sure that they prepare themselves to take over from their parents. He said a united force will always succeed and it was evident in the just concluded by-elections where they won all three seats that were theirs.
The Secretary General maintain that the Agenda for Prosperity will be successful if the youths are ready to work with the government and put aside all negative thoughts and ideas, but let them focus on the positive plans the government has for them in the coming years.
