Sierra Leone News: Political matters should not be taken to court – Bio
SLPP flag bearer aspirant, Julius Maada Bio has disclosed that for the past three years the party has been in Court. The people taking us to Court should know that political matters should not be taken to Court because they will not have a favourable result. Bio said for the unity of the Party we are appealing to the Members to settle all issues pertaining to the Party within the Party structures. There are enough structures and without exhausting the various remedies and possibilities within the Party, they took another matter to Court. I have also been preaching peace because I believe that as the matter is in court, we are members of the SLPP family, whether or not there is a ruling, we should be together and act together in the interest of the people, our Party and the rest of the country. The Party can have sustainable peace after the flag bearer elections. Bio said, “Once we are in the contest we will have unity. It is only when the Party elects one leader and we all refer to that person as the flagbearer, in a free and fair process, then every SLPP member is expected to accept that leader, this is the time we will have sustainable peace.” Bio maintained that governance is about people, and the people of the country and the Party are looking up to them to take governance. They can only achieve this when they come together as one. Tuesday January 31, 2017
