The Manager of Star Line Radio in Kenema has been summoned to appear before Parliament this morning to answer charges brought against him by two Kenema Members of Parliament.
The whole issue started a few weeks ago when SLAJ was summoned to Committee room No.1 to answer queries levied by Minority Leader Bernadette Lahai about alleged “hate” broadcasts.
SLAJ President warned then that the focus of every Sierra Leonean should be on fighting the war against Ebola and “cautioned” against starting another fight.
The issue was again brought up in the well of Parliament, at a subsequent sitting, which led to the summons being issued for the journalist to appear.
The Star Line Radio Station Manager claims that the Majority Leader publicly abused the Paramount Chief on air using the word “reckless” and that this was the start of their problem because they dissociated themselves from her comments and asked for an apology.
