Eastern Paddle Organisation on Saturday met with different youth organizations for the purpose of capacitating them so they will be important people in society.
Secretary General of Eastern Paddle Abdallah Sesay said after the street carnival they organized few days ago, they had some money left of the $150,000, and the Chairman of the organization Mohamed Gento Kamara said they should use the money to help train and capacitate these young man and women in the country especially those belong to cliques to get them out of their current state and make them relevant in society.
He said this has been the vision of the founding fathers of paddle as they have been helping people around the Magazine Cut with micro-credit to help them succeed in life.
Mr Sesay said they are working with Street Life an organization that has been working with street people to get them trained in various fields and make them important in the country.
Chief Executive Officer, Alhaji S. I Koroma of Street Life Organisation said they have been working with these kinds of people and because of his experience; he will be able to get these people back on your feet and make them relevant in Sierra Leone.
Musa Kamara of one of the cliques in the central part of the city said he is tired of his current life and would want to become a driver. He said he is happy that he will be trained to be one and thank Paddle for such a tremendous support.
Another from Black Street boys around the Stadium area said he attended the St Edwards Secondary School and would want to continue his education because he too wants to be a politician in the future.
Most of the clique organizations around the city were represented in this conference and they all were happy that Eastern Paddle organization has come to their aid and they would not let them down as they all want to move away from their current life to be more important people in the country.
Easter Paddle Organisation has been around for 68 years and some of the founding fathers including Christian Smith, Alhaji Muctarr Kallay and others were honoured during the street carnival.
The programme is expected to kick off soon as the youth groups are putting themselves together and the organizers will inform them the venue of the training soonest.
