The National Electoral Commission (NEC) will commence the exhibition of voters lists in all the 3,300 centres across the country, which will run to 28 August 2017.
The Director of External Relations of NEC, Albert Massaquoi, said, “The purpose of displaying the Provisional Voters Register is for all eligible Sierra Leoneans who took part in the registration process to confirm, correct, or include names that had been omitted during the process.”
This process also gives people the opportunity to object to names on the Provisional Register that are suspicious. The objection must be made from the 22nd to 28th August 2017, “to enable the Commission to take appropriate action in time.”
Massaquio disclosed that the Provisional Register exhibition exercise is a legal mandate wherein all eligible Sierra Leonean citizens who presented themselves during the Registration period between 20th March and 30th April 2017, can check if information they supplied to the NEC officers is consistent.
Adding that, “The same locations used for the registration process will be used for the exhibition process. The exhibition exercise will be conducted in all 446 Wards and 3,300 Centres across the country simultaneously.”
