Minister of Internal Affairs Retired Major Palo Conteh has said that since he started working in Sierra Leone he has put Sierra Leone first always and that is why he always succeeds.
“Even my party APC comes after Sierra Leone and that is why I am passionate in making sure that every assignment given to me by President Koroma I do it with diligence and determination.”
The minister said he is very grateful that for the past three decades in Sierra Leone he is the only Minister of Defence as the President has always held that position.
“My time at the Defence Ministry was interesting and I was able to succeed and that was the reason why President Koroma appointed me as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to fight the ebola crisis.”
Palo Conteh said the president had enough confidence that he will win the battle and he said that was the reason why he did not fail.
“I won the ebola battle and we are now commemorating the first anniversary. I was then appointed Minister of Internal Affairs and I was tasked to clear the streets of okada and to halve the spread of cliques. The fight is almost over, but I will get it done soonest.”
Minister Palo Conteh says if all Sierra Leoneans will put the country first above their party and self-interest, then the country would not have been in such a bad state.
“My success is based on the passion for my job and the love of Sierra Leone. If all of us politicians can be truthful to our conscience and the people then we will make our work easier and the people of Sierra Leone will trust us and respect us.”
The Minister of Internal Affairs says he is warning the okada riders that are breaching the Central Business District area to desist because he will soon come after them.
He also sent messages to the schools that the students that are members of cliques to continue with their education or else they will face the wrath of the law.
