Hon. Member of Parliament for Constituency 011 in the Kenema district, Saidu Mansaray alias Nico has called on his constituents to unite strongly in the fight against the killer Ebola virus.
Hon. Mansaray made this appeal as he launched his comprehensive Ebola sensitization and distribution of food and non-food items to traders at the Kingsway Corner Market in Kenema. The donation according to the SLPP Member of Parliament is to support women of the Kingsway Corner Market who have been put out of business as a result of the Ebola outbreak.
Describing the outbreak as “unfortunate” he revealed that the outbreak is having serious economic problems for the country.
The SLPP Member of Parliament assured that he will continue engaging communities in his constituency on matters related to the Ebola virus and to distribute food and non-food items to people affected by the virus.
He appealed to his constituents to abide by the rule and regulations set by the health ministry that is aimed at eradicating the virus. He encouraged his people to refrain from eating dead animals and to report persons suspected of Ebola to the health center. He stressed, “Ebola is real and there is no doubt about it”. The Kingsway Corner Market women expressed appreciation for the MP’s gesture and assured that they will adhere to the advice and regulations that will safeguard them against the Ebola virus.
