Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, Theo NicolAirtel has done it again! recently, the mobile network launched the ‘Bomba Millionaire Reloaded’- a promotion that placed over Le 1.5 billion on a silver platter for lucky subscribers to win.
Speaking during the launch at Airtel’s headquarter, the company’s Marketing Director, Patrick Caulker said one thing the Airtel’s customers can attest to is that the company gives complete range of services.
He said “we are not just a company who is here to make money, but have stayed in Sierra Leone through thick and thin.”
Some of you could attest, the Marketing Director said, “we were here throughout the war and ebola outbreak.”
However, Mr. Caulker noted “while we exercise our corporate social responsibility we have to make money as well. In the mist of making money we must ensure that relevant services and products are offered to customers on a regular basis.”
He boasted that their Bomba products are incomparable to other mobile networks, adding that the last Bomba millionaire was very successful.
Corporate Affairs Manager, June Rose Johnson explained that the time of the launch is but fitting, giving the fact that one of the effects of the ebola outbreak is economic crisis in so many households. She explained that the promotion which intends to make 1,200 subscribers millionaires before Christmas, would help alleviate the economic strain most Sierra Leoneans are faced with as a result of the ebola outbreak.
Launching the promotion, the Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, Theo Nicol said Airtel has been doing well for Sierra Leone because they’ve kept their own side of the deal. He pointed out that the company’s contribution alone to the consolidated fund is more than all the mining companies joined together. The minister thanked Airtel for making this Christmas a Bomba one.
Explaining the mechanics of the promotion, Airtel Marketing department, Abibatu Junisa said the promotion is for both prepaid and post-paid customers.
She explained that prepaid customers who recharge via scratchcard, evoucher and Airtel Money are eligible; while postpaid customers who use their Airtel lines to do any billable activity qualify for the daily draw.
Madam Junisa pointed out that unlike the previous promotion where there was one weekly jackpot, this time there would be three weekly jackpots of Le.5million each.
She also disclosed that 20 winners are selected to win Le.1million each for the next 60 days, adding that the grand prize after the 60 days would be a whooping Le200million
