Sierra Leone News: Man remanded in prison for rape

An accused Emmanuel Fayia of Burma three sections in  Kenema city, on Wednesday 31st July made his first appearance before the acting presiding magistrate Mohamed Alhaji Momoh-Jah Stevens in Kenema.
The accused was charged to court on one count of sexual penetration contrary to section 19 of the sexual offences Act no. 12 of 2012. The victim was five months pregnant at the time.
According to the particulars of offence, the accused at Burma section on the 24th July 2013 sexually abused his victim who is a class five pupil under the age of 14.  The matter was adjourned to the 7th August 2013.
The matter was prosecuted by Sgt. 4938 Laundeh Thomas of the Legal and Justice Support department of the Kenema police division.
