An accused person Ibrahim Moses, aged 21 of Torkpombu Section in Kenema city has been sentenced to 24 months or pay the alternative of Le 1, 000, 000 (one million Leones) for stealing a bowl of cooked rice valued at Le 5, 000 and a cutlass also valued at Le 5, 000 by Principal Magistrate, Alhaji Sulaiman Koroma.
Ibrahim was charged with larceny contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the particulars of offence, the accused person was on 2nd September 2014 at Neikabu village in the Nongowa chiefdom Kenema district stole one cutlass valued at Le 5,000 and a bowl of cooked rice also valued at Le 5,000 being properties of Mustapha Kallon of the same village.
The accused pleaded guilty of the offence and was therefore sentenced to 24 months imprisonment or pay a fine of Le 1, 000, 000 (one million Leones). The matter was prosecuted by Sergeant 4938 Laundeh Thomas of the Legal Justice and Support Department of the Kenema Police Division.
