As government continues to make efforts in ensuring that  the supply of energy is spread across the nation, some unpatrotic Sierra Leoneans are still bent on frustrating the effort of government there by putting more suffering on peaceful citizens of the nation.
An adult male ran out of luck when he met his untimely death at Kebie town section near the presidential lodge at Reservation in Bo when he climbed an electricity pole to cut off the 11,000 mega watt cable known as high tension cable. His  luck ran out when the current came surging through and threw him away making his entire body black. Kebie town section in Bo city has been out of electricity supply for weeks as thieves have stolen about 3 lengths of the copper cable leaving the entire community in total blackout. Thieves in Bo city are taking advantage of the intermitent blackout in the city.
A similar incident also happened in Kenema city when an adult male in Kenema also went at night at a place called Doorwaila at Reservation, climbed an electric pole to cut off an electrical cable. He too was unlucky when the current came, burning him and turning his charred remains black.
Electricity cable theft is very common in the two cities of Bo and Kenema especially during the period of persitent blackout, some community people cast blame on workers of EDSA adding that they know the importance of the cable. The copper cable is being used here locally to make pots and other objects.
Talking with the Public Relations Officer of EDSA in Bo city Sulaiman Sengu Koroma about the electricty supply for the two cities, he explained that the Dodo hydro is curently generating 3 mega watt of elecctricity purely for Kenema city, but during the day 1.2megawatt is being sent to Bo city and 1.8 remains in Kenema. At night Kenema uses the full 3 megawatt while Bo city will be taken over by the Thermal plant operated by the EGTC and the CAT machine which sometimes produce 1 megawatt and in some instances 900 kilowatts which is less than one (1) megawatt.
He said the US diversified independent power producer unit has three machines to support EGTC as backup that gives power to EDSA for consumption. Currently there is some technical problem with the US diversified panel.
The PRO pointed out that Bo city is still suffering in terms of electricity power at this point in time, which he said is a big loss to EDSA. He said the paliamentary oversight committee on energy that recently paid visit to Bo experienced the blackout in the city.
The PRO denied that there has been no evidence to prove that, the man electrocuted did not belong to EDSA and he is not known by any worker of EDSA. He said there staff are correct and no one is missing.
That shows that it is not only EDSA workers who work on the cables, but there are private electricians who have been trained but are not employed. It is alleged that they are the ones mostly involved in such acts.
