Three people, Sia Sesay, Osman Kargbo, and Isata Kargbo, have been accused of defamatory libel they allegedly committed on 22nd September 2019. They were granted Le40 million bail when they appeared before Magistrate Mark Ngegba at the Freetown Magistrate Court No. 2 on Pademba Road in Freetown, on Tuesday 15 October 2019. The Police allege the three used abusive language and then published a false defamatory statement against Samuel Fornah on 22nd September 2019, in Tengbeh Town in Freetown. The three accused were charged with defamatory libel contrary to Section 26(1) of the Public Order Act No. 46 of 1965 and abusive language contrary to Section 3 of the Public Order Act of 1965, trespassing and assault contrary to Section 19 Caps 13.

The matter was prosecuted by Sergeant Kadie Taylor. Defence lawyer S.A. Conteh requested bail for his client. He canvassed his plea on Section 79(3) of the Criminal Procedure Act of 1965. Magistrate Ngegba granted Le40 million bail plus one surety each. The sureties must be gainfully employed in a reputable institution and the bail was to be approved by the Deputy Assistant Registrar. Magistrate Ngegba adjourned the matter to 23rd October 2019.
