Past and present students of the Government Secondary school Kenema have celebrated another year of the founding of the school. This year’s anniversary celebrations started on Monday 21st April with a flag raising ceremony.
As part of the schools tradition the Board of Governors as well as the schools administration every year interface with institutions, eminent persons and organizations in the Kenema community. This year’s interface was with officials of the national social security and insurance trust (NASSIT) in Kenema.
According to Kenema Old Student Association (KOSA) the interface will create a learning opportunity for them to understand and contribute to the public relations effort of NASSIT. Also the school’s football team will have a friendly encounter with their counterpart of the Methodist Secondary School Kenema with the aim of building friendly relations with other schools within the community.
Honourable Justice Jon M. Kamanda vice president of the residual Special Court for Sierra Leone who is also a distinguished alumnus of the school will be guest speaker at the speech day and prize giving ceremony to be followed by a reunion night, annual convention and a Christian thanksgiving and march pass along the major roads of Kenema.
