The leader and former Presidential candidate for the Alliance Democratic Party (ADP), Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray, has dropped court charges against one of his campaign volunteers, Mohamed Bangura.
The ADP Leader came to this decision after Bangura openly apologised to him during court proceedings on Monday 18 June 2018.
Bangura, being a campaign volunteer for Mansaray during the last general election, on 2 May 2018 incited one of Mansaray’s security guards Edward Abass Fofanah, to steal money and set fire to Mansaray’s residence. Fofanah never did set fire to the house nor steal the money.
Following the public apology, Mansaray told the court that because the accused was his volunteer, being remorseful, he would like the court to seriously warn him and then terminate the matter.
The presiding Magistrate, Santigie Bangura, told the worker that the court would discharge him of the offence but will suspend the matter noting that the case would be re-opened if the ADP Leader brings any charge against him.
